The Voyager Programme: an innovative enrichment for our brightest and most talented students, designed to cultivate independence and self-confidence through a focus on critical-thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.

Peter Carnley Anglican Community School’s signature Voyager Programme is a selective programme offered in two streams: Music and Academics. Students may be selected for either stream individually or for both. The Academics stream is an integrated specialist programme that combines the three core subjects – English, Mathematics and Science – while the Music stream is designed for students with exceptional musical aptitude. Both streams aim to engage, extend, challenge and inspire our most talented students.

2026 Voyager Programme applications are now open and close Friday 6 June 2025.

Voyager Specialist – Academics

The Voyager Specialist Academics Programme is designed to engage, extend and challenge our students. The Voyager students will experience deep learning, developing student agency and academic stretch through project based learning while developing New Metrics complex competencies. This will be assisted by the Melbourne Assessment Community (a relationship PCACS has with the University of Melbourne). Voyager Academics is a selective programme that reimagines learning. Those students selected will be placed in a three period elective stream. Thoughtfully designed project based learning opportunities will provide a student centred teaching philosophy encompassing Maths, English and Science. These will be emphasising learning through engaging with real-world problems and challenges, fostering critical thinking, collaboration and creativity.

At the conclusion of each project, students will showcase their learning through presentations and exhibitions involving members of the broader community, including external agencies and industry experts. These authentic audiences will provide valuable feedback and highlight the relevance and impact of students’ work beyond the classroom.
