Across all locations and activities, the Year 7s conducted themselves with maturity, kindness and a genuine readiness to contribute positively.

The Year 7 Camp was a fantastic opportunity for our students to continue building the strong, positive culture they have already begun to establish this year. Throughout the week, they showed a genuine willingness to be involved in every part of the program, and it was great to see their friendships and connections developing.

The half and half structure meant that Laurence Lindbeck and Moody Murray followed different schedules, but both groups shared the same spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm. At Cahoots Adventure Camp, students worked closely with their PCGs during Team Building challenges, Water Works activities and a Treasure Hunt that required them to navigate the grounds while tied together. These tasks brought out thoughtful communication, patience and real teamwork. Many students pushed themselves on the low ropes, high ropes and rock climbing activities, and it was heartening to see the encouragement they offered one another, celebrating each success no matter how big or small. Evening activities such as Spy Games and Glow Sports added plenty of fun and strengthened the supportive atmosphere.

The trip to Outback Splash was a clear highlight. Students embraced the rides and slides with excitement, and their behaviour throughout the day reflected a strong commitment to looking after one another and ensuring everyone felt included. Some even managed to talk staff into joining them on the inflatable slides, which added to the lively, good‑natured tone of the day.

Their time at school provided opportunities for reflection and personal growth. Students learned about respectful friendships through a guest speaker session, engaged in house sports to build house culture, created banners and wrote letters to their future selves, reflecting on the first few weeks of Year 7. These activities helped reinforce the positive social habits and responsible attitudes that students have already been demonstrating throughout Term 1.

XLR8 was another standout. The obstacle course challenged students physically and mentally, yet they approached it with determination and a strong sense of camaraderie. They supported their peers through the tougher sections and celebrated each accomplishment together, finishing the course with pride.

Across all locations and activities, the Year 7s conducted themselves with maturity, kindness and a genuine readiness to contribute positively. Their respectful behaviour, responsible choices and strong connection as a group created a warm and encouraging environment for everyone involved. The week not only provided memorable experiences but also strengthened the foundations the cohort has been building since the start of the year.

We are incredibly proud of the way Year 7 represented themselves and the school throughout the camp. Their enthusiasm, cooperation and positive attitude have set a strong tone for the year ahead, and we look forward to seeing these qualities continue to grow.
