On Friday, June 20th, our Year 6 students rolled in their sleeping bags, zipped up their backpacks, and arrived at school ready for one of the most anticipated events of the year the Year 6 Sleepover! What followed was a day (and night!) packed with fun, connection, and unforgettable memories.

From the very beginning, the day was all about building on the strengths of mind, heart, self, growth and collaboration. Students kicked off with energetic fitness games that had them working together, cheering each other on, and showing heart. Trust building activities followed, giving everyone a chance to reflect on themselves and support their peers. Then it was time for a creative tower building challenge, testing problem solving skills and teamwork.

Despite some threatening clouds, we managed to dodge the rain and spend precious time with our Year 1 buddies. The Year 6 students truly shone as leaders helping with art projects, joining in on music and drama sessions, and bringing so much joy to the younger students. This part of the day is always a crowd favourite!

The fun didn’t stop there. An exciting “Amazing Race” saw teams racing around, solving challenges and collecting puzzle pieces. Along the way, students discovered the true meaning of leadership, supporting, helping, and listening to one another.

After dinner, we got cozy with a movie, and while there wasn’t much sleeping during the sleepover (as expected!), there was plenty of laughter and shared moments that brought us all closer together.

A huge thank you to our amazing Year 6 team Mrs Richardson, Ms Paramasivam, Mrs Morphew, Miss Wissmann, and Ms Butler for making the magic happen. And big thanks to Miss Duckworth, Mrs Taffe, Miss Italiano, Ms Janes, and Ms London for their help and energy throughout the event.
