Science Week 2026 gave our students the chance to explore, experiment, compete and discover through a range of exciting hands on activities.
Science Week 2026 was an action packed celebration of curiosity, creativity and hands on learning at Peter Carnley Anglican Community School. Across four days, students took part in exciting challenges, competitions and practical activities that brought science to life.
The week kicked off on Monday with a lunchtime Scavenger Hunt outside the Science Office. Students raced to solve clues and reach the final challenge, with every team taking home a prize.
On Tuesday, students took part in the Einstein Cards challenge, hunting for cards at recess and lunchtime to earn House points and prizes. The winners from the Einstein challenge were House Moody. Students also got creative in S1, making their own terrariums in glass jars during lunchtime with Eleshia Monk.
Wednesday brought plenty of competition, with students taking part in the PCG House Competitions. Years 7 to 10 put their knowledge to the test in the General Science Quiz, while Years 11 to 12 competed in the Bottle Rockets challenge, well done Laurence House for taking the win in the Bottle Rockets.
The staff also embraced the Science Week spirit with Staff Element Dress Up Bingo. Students were challenged to find staff members dressed as different elements, with staff going above and beyond to create some fantastic and creative costumes. A huge thank you goes to everyone who joined in and made the activity such a success!
Best Dressed staff prizes were awarded to Amanda Bryant as Aluminium and Kelly Morgan Bryant as Gold. Best Dressed Department went to Technologies for their fantastic Uranium team effort.
Students then headed to S1 for the highly anticipated Berocca Racers, where they built chemically powered cars before testing them outside near the Science Office. Students competed to see whose racer could travel the furthest, with prizes awarded to the winners.
Science Week concluded on Thursday with the Critters Up Close display in the Mortang Mia Auditorium. Students had the opportunity to meet native animals and learn more about Australia's unique wildlife from expert handlers.

From solving clues and hunting for Einstein Cards to building terrariums, launching bottle rockets, racing chemically powered cars and meeting native wildlife, Science Week 2026 was a fantastic opportunity for our students to explore, experiment, compete and discover.
