PCACS Senior School was buzzing with energy and good vibes as students and staff came together to mark R U OK? Day a national initiative that encourages us to check in with each other and start conversations that really matter.

The day was all about connection, support and a splash (or several!) of yellow, giving the school a bright and cheerful feel while also serving as a gentle reminder to look out for one another.

The program was packed with a great mix of activities. Students jumped into mental health workshops led by Youth Focus and 20Talk’s Chasing Calm, learning easy, relatable ways to manage stress and be there for their mates. The feedback? A big thumbs up, students found the sessions super helpful and easy to relate to.

Things got moving literally with high energy dance sessions thanks to The Dance Collective, and a martial arts workshop run by Rampage MMA. Both were a huge hit, with plenty of laughs, sweat, and newfound skills.

Creativity also had its moment, with each year group getting stuck into expressive and collaborative activities. For those needing a peaceful pause, the optional bush walk across to Henley Reserve offered a calm retreat and a chance to reconnect with nature.

And of course, what’s a celebration without a bit of fun? Students chilled out in dedicated relax zones, bounced around on inflatables, met some furry friends at the animal farm and enjoyed delicious bites from food vans dotted around the school.

The highlight besides the inflatables? The way students supported and uplifted each other throughout the day. The atmosphere was warm, inclusive and filled with genuine kindness.

R U OK? Day at PCACS wasn’t just a day of fun, it was a powerful reminder that a simple question can spark meaningful conversations and make a real difference in someone’s day. And with so many smiles and moments of connection, it’s clear the message truly hit home.

A special thanks to Rebecca Weddikkara and the senior school staff for conducting a meaningful R U OK? Day.
