I wish all our families a joyous, safe, restful holiday. For those of our families travelling, I wish you safe travels and I look forward to seeing everyone back at the start of Semester 2.

Here we are at the end of Semester One. With reports coming home shortly, I spoke to the students in my Principal’s Assembly today and asked them to take time to review the reports and set new goals for Semester 2. Parent involvement in this process is most useful and grows a sense of shared responsibility for learning progression. Through parent teacher interviews and open classrooms, rich discussions of learning have been generated this term. For Year 11 and 12 parents, a structured time of revision over these holidays will set the student in good stead for Semester Two.

‘Moortang Mia’ means community coming together and this was well evident this term. The past few weeks have been a celebration of generosity, creativity, and community spirit. From Founders’ Day, Spirit Week, the Book Fair, Reconciliation Week, open classrooms, Grandparents Day, parent teacher interviews, music recitals and carnivals there have been many opportunities for our community to come together. A sincere thank you to the staff, student leaders and parents whose efforts made these events such memorable experiences for our students.

At PCACS, we are incredibly blessed to have a passionate and dedicated team of staff who work hard to create purposeful and nurturing experiences for our students. I am sure all our families will join me in expressing heartfelt thanks for the commitment and passion of our staff as we wish them a well-earned and restful holiday break.

Service to All Saints School in Samoa

The Junior School colour run was a sight to behold, but behind all the fun and rainbows of colour was a commitment to giving to others less fortunate. Congratulations to Ms Kierin Janes for sharing stories of the All Saints School in Samoa with the Junior School. Illustrating the stark contrast between our beautiful play equipment and the few basic items at All Saints, the mission was set and goal of raising money for new playgrounds was embraced with gusto. Thank you to all our families for fully embracing the meaning behind this fundraising event and for so many parents who joined us on the day to complete the colour run. We raised $10,860 - a spectacular effort. A group of Year 10s and 11s are now travelling to Samoa with Mrs Lawrence and Piper Smith (Head Girl 2024) to complete a service-learning trip where they will work with the children at All Saints and help improve their school grounds and to build friendships. This will be a long-term relationship between our schools, where the younger student may aspire to attend the service trip one day.

Happy Holidays

I wish all our families a joyous, safe, restful holiday. For those of our families travelling, I wish you safe travels and I look forward to seeing everyone back at the start of Semester 2.

God bless.
