Their consistent performances across both the swimming events and the additional activities reflected strong teamwork and outstanding House spirit throughout the day.
On Thursday, March 6, the Senior School Interhouse Swimming Carnival was held for the first time at the Rockingham Aquatic Centre. As the School continues to grow and develop, the move to this larger venue has created new opportunities to accommodate the now 700+ students in the Senior School while enhancing the overall carnival experience.
The competition in the pool was outstanding, with a series of highly competitive races taking place throughout the day. Students demonstrated impressive determination and sportsmanship, pushing themselves and supporting their teammates in pursuit of valuable House points. The energy around the pool was electric, as students gathered along the sidelines to cheer on their Houses and celebrate each race.
A standout feature of the day was the Year 12 VIP area, which quickly became the centre of the carnival’s atmosphere. Led by our inspiring House Captains Tahlia, Tilly, Avanthika and Hamish the space generated incredible enthusiasm across the venue. Through constant cheering, dancing and singing, the Year 12 students helped build a vibrant and positive environment that lifted the spirits of competitors and spectators alike. Their leadership and passion for House pride set the tone for the entire day.
Beyond the main swimming events, the new venue also allowed for a wider range of activities and opportunities for student involvement. Additional competitions such as beach volleyball, tug of war and the ever popular water polo provided exciting alternatives for students who preferred activities outside the traditional swimming races. These additions proved to be extremely popular and played an important role in creating an inclusive carnival environment, ensuring that all students had the chance to represent their House and contribute to the day’s success.
Congratulations to Lindbeck House for securing the overall carnival victory with an impressive 597 points. Their consistent performances across both the swimming events and the additional activities reflected strong teamwork and outstanding House spirit throughout the day.
The carnival was a wonderful celebration of participation, House spirit and community. Thank you to all students, staff, parents, guardians and spectators who helped make the day such a memorable and successful event. Their enthusiasm and support contributed to a truly sensational Senior School Swimming Carnival.
