2026 Junior School Interhouse Athletics Carnival

It was an action packed week of sport, competition and school spirit as our Junior School students took to the track and field for their annual Athletics Carnivals.

The excitement began with our Kindergarten Tabloid Carnival at Calista Campus on Tuesday 1 September. Our youngest athletes embraced every challenge, taking part in running races and tabloid games while proudly showing off their ribbons. The event was made even more special by the wonderful support of families and friends, who cheered the children on from the sidelines.

The action continued on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 September, with Pre Primary to Year 6 students from both the Wellard and Calista campuses coming together at Wellard Oval. Students competed in a variety of running, jumping and throwing events, along with relays and team games, providing plenty of opportunities to participate, challenge themselves and support their House.

The carnival atmosphere was filled with energy and excitement, with students celebrating their achievements and encouraging their teammates throughout the competition. A remarkable 11 long standing records were broken, including several that had stood for more than 10 years.

Adding to the excitement, Murray House claimed the overall Junior School Athletics Carnival title, bringing an end to Moody House’s winning streak. It was a fantastic achievement and a testament to the enthusiasm, teamwork and determination shown by Murray students throughout the carnival.

Congratulations to all our Junior School students for their outstanding effort, sportsmanship and school spirit. It was a wonderful celebration of athletics and community.
