Dear Parents and Carers,

PCACS Founders’ Day Celebrations
Friday 14 June 2019
Junior School Arrangements

PCACS Founders’ Day is one of the most significant School events celebrated each year. It is an opportunity for the School community to remember its roots in the past, to celebrate the present and to outline its vision for the future.

Arrangements for the day will be as follows:

Kindergarten to Year 1 will attend a short Founders’ Day assembly at Calista at 8.45am.  The Calista bike raffle will be drawn at the assembly.  All bike raffle proceeds will go to the Anglicare Winter Appeal.  Appreciation goes to Hon. Roger Cook MLA for the donation of the bike.

Kindergarten to Year 1 will be transported by bus to Wellard Campus to participate in Buddy Activities with older students and the annual Lapathon in the afternoon.  All Calista students will take their school bags with them to Wellard and will remain there for the remainder of the day until the conclusion of the Lapathon.  Bus transportation has been arranged to return students to Calista.  It is advisable that all Calista students wear shorts under their tracksuits as they will get very hot whilst running/walking the Lapathon.

Kindergarten to Year 1 schedule is as follows:

  • 8.45am – Founders’ Day Assembly in the Calista Auditorium.  Drawing of the Calista bike raffle.
  • 9:15am – Classroom lessons.
  • 10.10am – Year 1 depart for Wellard and eat recess and lunch at Wellard.

Year 2 – Year 12 students will attend the annual Founders’ Day Service which will be held in the Keith Lindbeck Centre, Wellard from 10.00am. This service will also be attended by invited guests from the Diocese of Perth, the Anglican Schools Commission and the local community.

Kindergarten to Year 12 students will participate in Buddy Activities between recess and lunch based on the theme PCACS: Imagine what we could be!

Year 2 students wear full tracksuits for the Founders’ Day Service.  Bring shorts to wear for the Lapathon as it will get very hot running around the oval.

Year 3 – Year 6 students wear winter uniform including their tie, jumper, polished shoes and correct hair attire for the Founders’ Day Service.  They are required to bring their sports uniform with them (including shorts) for the afternoon’s Lapathon.

Kindergarten – Year 6 Lapathon will begin at 1.55pm and finish at approximately 2.30pm.  Any students being collected directly after the Lapathon must be signed out with their class teacher.

Lapathon Sponsorship: Your child will be bringing home a sponsorship form soon.  Please assist your child in securing sponsorship from friends, family and your local community to raise money for Anglicare WA.

Please come and join the Junior School for the Lapathon. You are most welcome to watch or to run/walk with us.  It is a wonderful community occasion where we raise money for a very worthy cause.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Shirley Steel
